2005-10-14 [bungalowbill]: Yeah, i suuppose maybe a litte. I should listen to the song, and/or see the play. 'Cause blowing off Auntie Em? Huh?
2005-10-14 [peacefrog]: It doesn't make sense, granted. But I'm being very sensitive to stubborness...
2005-10-15 [.the plastic emo.]: :-: I'm sorry for being anoying:-: bye
2005-10-16 [prairierose]: um, bye. RENT is really awesome, but there aren't a lot of one-liners that make sense out of context. RENT the movie is coming out November 23rd, so you should both go see it and experience the magic. Or, you could buy the broadway soundtrack and be really confused but look up the plot on line and fall in love with this musical.
2005-10-17 [bungalowbill]: Wow. I thinks I'll wait for the picture...
2005-10-18 [prairierose]: It should be pretty amazing. They're using mostly members from the original Broadway cast
2005-10-18 [bungalowbill]: Very cool!
2005-10-18 [prairierose]: Very cool in some ways, but its also been 8 years since they last performed in their role, so they're reinventing a lot of it anyway.
2005-10-19 [Sebhar]: Ooh, I put quotes up... go me!
2005-10-19 [prairierose]: i thought it was really looooong...but then I realized it was mulitple quotes. Relief ensued. And then I found five dollars
2005-10-19 [bungalowbill]: ...and put it in the microwave?
2005-10-19 [peacefrog]: I put up mr rogers! I'm cool. ( a safe fall on her and strongbad's voice says "no, you're not")
2005-10-19 [bungalowbill]: No... you're not.
2005-10-19 [Sebhar]: Eeeh... why isn't PF cool?
2005-10-20 [bungalowbill]: It's a reference. Here you are! http://homesta
2005-10-20 [Sebhar]: aaaaaaaaaaaah *has seen the light, sistas!*
2005-10-21 [peacefrog]: What light?
2005-10-21 [Sebhar]: that one over there. ooh, new idea for a quote... MUST POST BEFORE I FORGET!
2005-10-21 [bungalowbill]: You got it in time! Well done!
2005-10-21 [The Femme Fatale Problem]: Yes...and a quote from a great movie, at that.
2005-10-21 [peacefrog]: Greaat.
2005-10-22 [Sebhar]: That's one of my favourites... quotes, and movies. Most of my other favourite quotes from that movie are actually from the audience participation.
2005-10-22 [.the plastic emo.]: what's up?
2005-10-22 [Sebhar]: ....um... not really much... listening to Bob Marley... you?
2005-10-23 [peacefrog]: mmm, Bob Marley music. Dangerous to listen to when in the car and driving.
2005-10-23 [bungalowbill]: Hah. Unless some asshole on a motorcycle cuts you off, and you are seriously contemplating rear ending him.
2005-10-23 [Sebhar]: hmm, do we have Bob Marley anywhere up here?
2005-10-23 [peacefrog]: truue. I don't think so.
2005-10-24 [prairierose]: Mr. Rogers!! He's my idol.
2005-10-25 [bungalowbill]: I'm so sad he's gone.
2005-10-25 [peacefrog]: me too. I think I greived for him for quite a while.
2005-10-25 [bungalowbill]: I'm still in mourning.
2005-10-25 [peacefrog]: I'm not until I watch his show of read something by him.
2005-10-26 [bungalowbill]: Yes, well, sporadic mourning at any rate
2005-10-26 [prairierose]: agreed. same here.
2005-10-26 [The Femme Fatale Problem]: Yeah...my dad was watching tv the other morning...and his show was on.
2005-10-26 [peacefrog]: *Warms inside*
2005-10-29 [.the plastic emo.]: BOB MARLEY ROCKS! Doesn't sing the song "Bufflo Soilder"?
2005-10-30 [peacefrog]: Yep.....yep.
2005-10-30 [.the plastic emo.]: YAY! *little dance* he's cool
2005-10-31 [Sebhar]: I listened to him a LOT this weekend...
2005-10-31 [.the plastic emo.]: Bob has a friendly look to him....
2005-10-31 [peacefrog]: He has a stoned look to him.
2005-11-03 [Sebhar]: but his messages are all right
2005-11-03 [bungalowbill]: Yeah, good call there. I have one in mind for the main page.
2005-11-03 [peacefrog]: Sweet.
2005-11-04 [Sebhar]: ooh, which?
2005-11-04 [bungalowbill]: It's from "Redemption Song". Any guesses?
2005-11-04 [peacefrog]: Why isn't Mr. Rogers on the main page?
2005-11-04 [bungalowbill]: I've not gotten around to it yet...
2005-11-04 [peacefrog]: That's what I thought.
2005-11-06 [bungalowbill]: I had a friend of mine tell me they didn't like Bob Marley because he was too happy. It made me sad, especially when they said they needed bitter, angry music.
2005-11-07 [prairierose]: I added more Mr. Rogers. I know its kind of a long quote (you can cut if you must), but we reference this song all the time in my family. If someone does something extra nice, its just the "making cookies way to say I love you" or the "washing your hat way to say I love you." Fred M. Rogers teaches good life skills.
2005-11-07 [bungalowbill]: Good one. Also, [Sebhar] got my Marley quote. Well done.
2005-11-09 [peacefrog]: what other aquabats can we put up?
2005-11-09 [bungalowbill]: Hmmm... I dunno. I'll think on it.
2005-11-11 [Sebhar]: Buha, I have that quote on a shirt.
2005-11-11 [prairierose]: ...what quote?
2005-11-11 [Sebhar]: "emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds"
2005-11-11 [prairierose]: hot
2005-11-11 [bungalowbill]: Damn right.
2005-11-16 [Sebhar]: *bows to Bob*
2005-11-20 [.the plastic emo.]: (bob) he was such a brave man, stepping into the line of duty like that. *sniff*
2005-11-20 [prairierose]: ...have I submitted that quote before? I didn't see it anywhere, but I can't belive I've waited this long to post it
2005-11-20 [bungalowbill]: I don't think so.
2005-11-20 [prairierose]: ah, its so great.
2005-11-27 [prairierose]: if you haven't noticed, RENT is out in theatres, so you guys should both go see it. Then you should go by the original broadway album, which is even better, and makes more sense, because less is cut, but it makes no sense at first without visuals. So, see the movie which rocks, then listen to the album which rocks even more, and then help me pick a lyric to live by from it, which rocks the most. Actually, I'd be happy if you just went to see the movie. The more people exposed to RENT at all the better.
2005-11-28 [Sebhar]: I'm actually going to go see it live for my birthday.
2005-11-28 [prairierose]: see? Sebhar is cool. Be like Sebhar.
2005-11-28 [Seamus Schwathe]: Sebhar is not broke like I.
2005-11-28 [peacefrog]: make someone else pay for it.
2005-11-28 [Seamus Schwathe]: Who?
2005-11-28 [peacefrog]: Uh, parents/guardi
2005-11-28 [Seamus Schwathe]: No. I've asked enough from them.
2005-11-28 [peacefrog]: Hmm. Rich friends?
2005-11-29 [Seamus Schwathe]: None.
2005-11-29 [Sebhar]: Sebhar is indeed broke, although she found a dollar under her mattress (twas a search of desperation) yesterday and proceeded to celebrate with some tea. The dear auld mum is taking me for my birthday (she gets to come, too)
2005-12-05 [Seamus Schwathe]: How nice of you to let her.
2005-12-07 [peacefrog]: Mmm...bitter.
2005-12-07 [Sebhar]: *fights sarcasm with sarcasm* I felt like being nice that day...
2005-12-08 [prairierose]: SOoo, who has seen RENT yet? Get your butts to a movie theatre, guys! I really think you'd like it.
2005-12-08 [peacefrog]: stop assuming that i have money, and access to movie theaters.
2005-12-08 [prairierose]: never!
2005-12-08 [peacefrog]: Then I'll never stop saying you are stupid to assume so.
2005-12-09 [prairierose]: ooh, ouch.
2005-12-09 [Seamus Schwathe]: Ouch indeed.
2005-12-09 [peacefrog]: yeah, uh, because that was a super good burn...
2005-12-09 [prairierose]: Preheat the oven...put in the cookies...set the timer for 30 mintues...oh, no, its been forty five....BURN.
2005-12-09 [Sebhar]: more like "oh, no, it's been three hours"... BURN
2005-12-09 [peacefrog]: Or, "Oh no, I forgot that I was making cookies at all and it's now been three hours" BURN.
2005-12-09 [Sebhar]: ouch, that's hot!
2005-12-10 [peacefrog]: or hott, or hawt.
2005-12-10 [Sebhar]: er, no it isn't...
2005-12-10 [peacefrog]: I am bitching about how stupid people like to use that word other than for temperature, and since they, apparently, didn't want any confusion, they changed the spellings.
2005-12-10 [Seamus Schwathe]: Or they couldn't spell in the first place.
2005-12-10 [peacefrog]: You think? That'd be sad.
2005-12-10 [Seamus Schwathe]: Yes, very.
2005-12-10 [peacefrog]: But maybe they forgot...they seem to have forgotten so much. Especially spelling.
2005-12-10 [Sebhar]: Yes. Because "u" is not a word. And people accuse U2 of starting that... but a U2 is a plane...
2005-12-10 [peacefrog]: I think they were punning us, though.
2005-12-11 [Sebhar]: ...this is definitely a possibility.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: so, um, no one comments on this page anymore. That's lame. How has everyone been?
2006-01-23 [peacefrog]: Good. Kinda overworked...
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: Reading! ^_^
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: I finished applying to college!!!! That means I should be much less overworked now. I totally plan on getting senioritis and spending all of my time working on the Madrigals sweatshirt design and planning Beatles Club instead of doing schoolwork. Oh wait, I already do that. I also auditioned for a musical today (although I don't think I'll get in), because something about having free time scares my subconcious. BUT I FINISHED ALL MY COLLEGE APPS!
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: ooh, whatcha reading? I'm currently slogging through Wicked and The Beatles Anthology.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: Mind Over Matter, and The Occult. I loved Wicked.
2006-01-23 [peacefrog]: "Reading" is a noun. Not an adverb. But then, I should have really said "well" but people tend to think that's pretentious. Waiiit...
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: You ask how have we been. I have been reading.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: yeah, I'm with Seamus. It's also definately my second time through Wicked; I read it a few years ago when the show was really popular. Weird book, that.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: I read it almost a month ago at a friend's house. How do you like it?
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: I quite like it acutally. It baffles me how they got the show Wicked out of it, but the book is pretty cool. I like that it raises more questions than it answers. Although, it does bother me that Gregory Macguire could get something like Ozma's original name correct ("Tippetarius"), but then make Glinda the Good Witch of the North instead of the South.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: I didn't notice. I have never read the Wizard of Oz.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: oh man, when I was little I read ALL of those books (there's about nine in the series overall). L. Frank Baum kicks butt!! Thats also where the name Elphaba comes from...L. Frank Baum -->L.F.B.--->Elphaba. Unfortunately, he was also a blazing racist according to my history teacher last year, but I still *lived* for those books when I was younger. I didn't see the movie until a few years ago...I nearly broke the tv at the end when they decided Oz was all a dream. That's *not* *right*.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: ...It wasn't? *runs to bookstore*
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: Dude! Oz is totally real in the books. In the other books other people travel there, and eventually Dorothy and her aunt and uncle move there permantly. It pissed me off not a little that they made my fantasy land into some weird dream analogy.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: EEP! I need the books! We don't have them!
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: you should totally check out the entire series. I'm sure it wouldn't take you very long to read them all.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: for the most part, Gregory Maguire was very true to the books, so it made reading Wicked cooler that I recognized things like Ozma Tippetarius.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: Did he make up the preceding lines of Ozmas?
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: nope. There were always Ozmas, but then the wizard came and he wanted to stay in power so he transformed the next Ozma into a boy and sent her/him off to be raised by a nasty old woman. So "Tip" grows up not knowing who he is, and then in _The Land of Oz_, which is the book after the Wizard of Oz, so the Scarecrow is the King of Oz, Tip goes on great adventures and everything, and then eventually discovers that he is, in fact, a girl and the rightful ruler of Oz. I think Glinda transforms him back.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: oh yeah, and it made me so happy that Gregory Maguire didn't use *ruby* slippers, because in the orginal book they're the *silver* slippers, but what with techinicolor they had to make them red for the movie, and now thats such a cliche, but its *wrong*! Man, I'm using a lot of asterix. Heh, I guess I'm pretty passionate on the subject of Oz. Thats kinda cool.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: It's fascinating, really. I'd be fascinated with it too if I had the books.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: a library would probably have some of them. I remember happily coming across _The Land of Oz_ in an elementary school book sale back in first grade or whenever it all began. I've always been a serial series reader. I find an author or a series, and then I gotta "catch 'em all!" A few years ago I was obsessed with owning every Mercedes Lackey book on Valdemar.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: A library then. It'll be free that way.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: aren't libraries great!
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: Yes they are. Especially the ones around here that don't mind that I lost my card.
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: I have to go now. And get the Oz books. The Wizard of Oz is the first one, right?
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: yup. Happy reading, man!
2006-01-23 [Seamus Schwathe]: Thank you.
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: you are welcome.
2006-01-23 [bungalowbill]: I love reading...
2006-01-23 [peacefrog]: First of all- how! Gorram it.
2006-01-23 [peacefrog]: And second, I must read the book.
2006-01-23 [peacefrog]: Third, Everyone done the Pink Floyd thing with the movie?
2006-01-23 [prairierose]: never tried it because I can't stand the movie, but the idea still intrigues me
2006-01-23 [peacefrog]: It is. It works very well- not quite worth it after about two repetitions of the album, though.
2006-01-24 [Seamus Schwathe]: When do you start the album for the first time?
2006-01-24 [Sebhar]: *has always wanted to try this, so starts taking notes*
2006-01-24 [peacefrog]: urh...I think it's the third lion roar. Will? Buddy? Help?
2006-01-24 [bungalowbill]: You are perfectly correct. Have the CD paused, and hit play right after the 3rd roar.
2006-01-24 [Seamus Schwathe]: Thank you! It's Dark Side of the Moon, right?
2006-01-24 [bungalowbill]: Yes indeed.
2006-01-25 [Seamus Schwathe]: Just checking.
2006-01-25 [peacefrog]: Will, what did you think it was at first?
2006-01-25 [bungalowbill]: The Wall. I don't know why...
2006-01-25 [peacefrog]: oh yeah.
2006-02-06 [Sebhar]: Thanks. That's what I'm doing with my next free Sunday.
2006-02-06 [peacefrog]: It's a good use of time- you should have other people there too. I think it makes it better.
2006-02-06 [bungalowbill]: Oh, definately a group activity.
2006-02-13 [peacefrog]: you know, I was going to put "people are strange" up, but I couldn't think of any advice it offered.
2006-02-13 [bungalowbill]: I think it works. People are strange.
2006-02-13 [peacefrog]: that's true.
2006-02-14 [prairierose]: some are strange in a good way, some in a less good way
2006-02-14 [peacefrog]: But that seems to be describing how people appear when you don't want...people to appear.
2006-02-14 [Appetite for Destruction]: I always thought the message of the song is that if you feel sad, everything around you seems sad...so you should take a positive attitude towards life and it's not as bad as you might think. Or maybe that's just my extremely bad insight. XP
2006-02-14 [peacefrog]: I never cought anything positive...
2006-02-14 [bungalowbill]: Niether did I... that was impressively optimistic thought though. Pretty good point too.
2006-02-15 [Sebhar]: "these problems are strange and how I go about them is stranger" - the Apprentice, 'I Was Wrong'
2006-05-04 [Pirokenetic]: hey...im back
2006-05-04 [peacefrog]: Welcome back. You were gone? Where'd you go?
2006-05-04 [Pirokenetic]: i got tired of ppl not talkin to me on here so i went to Fake
2006-05-04 [peacefrog]: Didn't Hedda say "If all you want to do is masterbate, please stay at fake?"
2006-05-05 [bungalowbill]: That should rhyme. Is there a synonym for "masturbate" that rhymes with "Fake"?
2006-05-05 [peacefrog]: Yeah, I don't think so
2006-05-05 [prairierose]: There's "masticate," but it means "chew" and doesn't ryhme with fake. Just throwing that out there.
2006-05-05 [peacefrog]: I know. Will used it on his "eating" away message.
2006-05-05 [prairierose]: hehehe...peopl
2006-05-05 [peacefrog]: Yes. And no limit to copulations. Like Bonobos. It was on the test. Proving your point, of course.
2006-05-05 [bungalowbill]: Dirty minded biology nerd.
2006-05-05 [peacefrog]: I didn't make the question. I asked about reciprocity.
2006-05-09 [Sebhar]: Cake rhymes with fake.
2006-05-09 [Sebhar]: And make. "If sexual advances you wish to make, do your best to stay at Fake."
2006-05-10 [prairierose]: ooh, excellent. Well done.
2006-05-10 [bungalowbill]: That's the one then. Huzzah!
2006-05-10 [peacefrog]: Awesome.
2006-05-10 [Sebhar]: *glows* thanks guys! ^__^
2006-05-10 [Pirokenetic]: Fake isn't all about just sex though, it's a lot like here, but with less rules
2006-05-11 [peacefrog]: Huh. Still sounds like it's a major component, or an even worse problem, there.
2006-05-11 [Sebhar]: Either way, the statement is true.
2006-05-13 [peacefrog]: Which statement?
2006-05-14 [Pirokenetic]: meh
2006-05-16 [Sebhar]: That statement, about the thing.
2006-05-17 [peacefrog]: Oh good, that helps.
2006-05-18 [Sebhar]: I try ^__^ (actually I forgot what we were talking about. How are you?)
2006-05-18 [prairierose]: hey Bill, any new quotes gonna make it to the main page?
2006-05-19 [peacefrog]: I translate that to mean "I want miiine on there! Noooow!" but I could be wrong. She probably speaks a different dialect from me.
2006-05-19 [prairierose]: nah, I'm just curious. It's been a while, and I think some good ones (not just mine) have stockpiled here.
2006-05-19 [bungalowbill]: I agree. Now that I'm done with school, and sort of moved in to my new place, I intend to sort through the lyrics and post the good ones.
2006-05-21 [Sebhar]: Ooh, happy moving into a new place!
2006-05-23 [bungalowbill]: Yup. I'm excited. I'd like to remind everybody that the formula for lyrics is:
2006-05-23 [peacefrog]: Oooh, Bungalow Will is perturbed.
2006-05-23 [bungalowbill]: Also, congrats to [peacefrog][Appetite for Destruction][Pirokenetic][prairierose] and [Heartless Hooligans] who finally got their lyrics up on the main page! :-p
2006-05-23 [Sebhar]: Hmn. D'you think there's any significance to the fact that 60% of the people who got their lyrics up have usernames starting with "p"?
2006-05-23 [bungalowbill]: They're... proactive?
2006-05-23 [Sebhar]: Hmn. If I was not a procrastinator
2006-05-24 [prairierose]: hey, "p" is the start of most good things in life...peace, picnics, parties, Phantom of the Opera, phoenecians...(and of course, peacefrog, Pirokenetic, prairierose,..
2006-05-24 [peacefrog]: But we must not forget the letter F for food, friends, fall, forests...and frogs, undoubtably some of the best things in life. It could go for any letter, really, except x unless you really like xylophones and xenial...ity(?).
2006-05-26 [Sebhar]: *snerk* p-Sebhar... thanks Rose, that made me feel good. ^___^
2007-03-10 [bungalowbill]: I got back around to adding lyrics to the main page. [Seamus Schwathe], [peacefrog], and [Dorian Gray]'s lyrics made the cut (though I so ask for song titles, too Dorian. That way I can be lazier.) Congrats! Mozeltov! Only one proactive P this time...
